Change the name of a WhatsApp contact

From WhatsApp, press the New Chat button

Your WhatsApp contacts appear, listed in alphabetical order. Tap the contact whose name you want to change.
Tap the contact's name.

Press the Plus button (3 small dots) at the top right of the screen.

Tap Edit.

Enter the new name you want to assign to this contact.

Touch this icon to save the change.

The new name is only displayed on the side of your WhatsApp account: for your correspondent, the change will not be visible. However, this tutorial also changes the name of the contact in your phonebook.


Change a contact's name in WhatsApp on iPhone
Open the WhatsApp app.
In the Disc tab, click on the pencil-shaped New Message icon at the top right of the screen.
