Is Instagram growing or dying

Why is Instagram already dead? Analysis of a repeating pattern.

Since 2010 Instagram has continued to evolve. The social media has transformed several times and reached a pic  point of stagnation, a sort of cruising speed in recent years. Many influencers have emerged via the netzork  Instagram and it has become a go-to social media for brands and advertisers in recent years. However, we can say today that Instagram is on the downward slope and that it is doomed to decline now.

The viral has become impossible

What makes new personalities emerge on a social media is its ability to generate more buzz and promote more  viral content to the network . Where the buzz was daily on Instagram in its infancy, it has become very difficult if not impossible to reach now. This is due to the gradual evolution of Instagram's algorithm, led by Facebook, which now tends to normalize content and prevent any emergence of viral content.

This algorithm change has smoothed out the content offered and ensured that your Instagram feed only offers you content you already know, no surprises. Even the "Discovery" tab repeats itself over and over again.

Third party apps can no longer exercise on Instagram

What makes a social media accessible to the  brands and aspiring the influencers is its ability to be accessible (officially or not) to third-party applications that make it possible to automate the management of an account and manage it in a simple way.

Since the start of 2019, Instagram has launched a grand plan to destroy any possibility for third-party applications to access or entry  the platform. Let's get along well on this point, it was never officially authorized by Instagram but during all these years it was still possible and used extensively. I'm talking about the possibility of scheduling posts, of simply managing your community (useful for large accounts), of automating certain follow or  unfollow  actions which saved time for these professional accounts.

All of this is now impossible and makes social media too time-consuming for the pros and impossible to manage it  manually. Especially when you take into account the new algorithm which means that even with qualitative content and time spent, the progress is very slow and small. Add to that the huge number of users and your account is doomed to be lost in the mass.

Need to pay for advertisements to gain visibility

This eradication of all automation and third-party apps is no accident by Instagram. Indeed, its sole purpose is to get growth-hungry users to spend their money on Instagram buying ads rather than looking for third-party services. This is not fooled by them and it eradicates any other possibility of evolving or growing  his account.

Less general visibility and impossible to use a third-party application, Instagram says that now you have to pay to grow on Instagram network . This model has been applied at Facebook previously and we can see what it has given. Professionals had migrated to Instagram to find something organic and gain visibility without paying  complex ads to set up.

We have therefore gradually moved from a meritocratic model, where the beautiful content pays, to an other we doesn't appreciate  in which visibility is dependent on the amount invested.

Aging population on Instagram media , the Facebook pattern is repeating itself
Why Facebook took off in its early days? Because young people have found refuge there and have raised the social media through their use. Why Instagram took off? Because young people have found refuge there and have built up the network through their increased use of the platform.

The switch between Facebook and Instagram took place at a time when Facebook had locked the platform in order to force to pay for advertising to be visible (change of algorithm to reduce the visibility of pages and accounts accompanied by an eradication of third-party apps that could exercise). To add an important factor, the aging population on Facebook at the time showed that the network was already has-been with the most active users (young people). The population who had made the social media known therefore no longer felt comfortable on this same social network.

Instagram followed the same thing as Facebook in terms of changing algorithms to focus on advertising but also in terms of population. Instagram is now clearly and probably  outdated.

Recent Facebook scandals and Mark Zuckerberg's vision for officials

Mark Zuckerberg’s recent vision is to refocus Facebook and Instagram apps to be closer to the people we know. We always have in mind the recent scandals related to Facebook network and unfortunately the consequence of this new objective which may seem laudable at first glance is that these 2 social networks become platforms for following people we know or we like. This contrasts with the need of brands and professionals unfortunately separate . And yet this is what keeps these same networks alive.

Why has TikTok already taken over?

Analysis of the birth of Facebook, the switch from Facebook to Instagram, and the fall of Facebook and Instagram only confirms that the lucky winner will be TikTok. Young people have invested en masse in this network for a few months. Advertisers are now very present there. Viral content is king there , growth is easy yet . The timing is perfect for TikTok in the face of recent Instagram measures. In addition, this network is already very popular in India and China and has proven itself there. The US and European market is now growing impressively and quickly .

It is therefore important now not to miss the bandwagon. How many times that  you said to you, "If I had chosen Instagram seriously from the first, I would already have an influencer account!" ". We must therefore head and switch to TikTok media network right  now.
