ARCHOS 101E WIFI AUTHENTICATION PROBLEM

It is common for the Archos to announce the error message: Authentication problem when trying to connect to a WiFi network. This type of error can likely come from a variety of places. Therefore, in order for you to be able to connect to the Wifi network as well as possible with your Archos, we have decided to write this guide. We will therefore find out together what to do and where to go to resolve this WiFi authentication malfunction. We will first find out what you will need to control on the Archos. Finally, we will see what to do and what to watch on your WiFi box.

WHAT TO DO WHEN THE ARCHOS HAS AN AUTHENTICATION PROBLEM ON THE WIFI NETWORK

FORGET THE WIFI NETWORK ON YOUR ARCHOS
When the Wifi network you want to connect to has been changed since your last authentication, your Archos sometimes displays the message: Authentication problem or authentication error. If ever the problem comes from there, handling is relatively easy. You just have to forget about the Wifi network in your Archos. With this in mind, go to the settings of the Wifi network and keep pressed on the problematic network. You will then be able to click on the option: Forget this network. When it's ok, you need to retest to connect to the WiFi network. Assuming that the problem is not solved, go to the next step.

PRESS THE BOX BUTTON

Whether your box is from the Orange, Bouygues Telecom, SFR or Numéricable brand, it frequently happens to have a WiFi authentication problem on the Archos because the box is not in Synchronization mode. If you ever want to activate the synchronization mode of your box, it's very simple. You may find a sync button that will need to be pressed. When it is finished, a light will normally start to flash. You must then try to connect to the Wifi network with your Archos. If it still doesn't work, you can continue with the next trick.

RETURN THE PASSWORD

It is sometimes possible that the authentication malfunction comes from the way you enter the password for the WiFi network. For example, it is sometimes subtle to type a Wifi key on your Archos. We therefore recommend that you try all of the following possibilities:

Enter the key without spaces or dashes
Enter the password in all caps
Enter the password in lowercase

RESTART YOUR BOX

As with many computer problems, sometimes the answer is really primary. Undeniably, 85% of computer problems are resolved by restarting the device. We therefore recommend that you restart your box and your Archos. Then try to connect with your Archos.

CHECK THE BOX PARAMETERS

When 0 of the previous methods have not worked, the problem is sometimes on your operator's box. You will therefore have to go to the preferences of the box and check if the key device is in WPA / WPA2. Assuming this is not the case, choose this option. Then try to connect your Archos again to Wifi. If the authentication problem is resisting, we recommend that you contact your ISP or a mobile phone store.
