Golem game  Review: Hidden In Plain Sight

Golem: first returns to the adventure game on PlayStation VR

If you've already got your hands on Golem, you may have had some frustration. It must be recognized, the beginnings are complicated. However, should we insist? We take stock.

Adventure gaming is a well-known experience for fans of PlayStation VR virtual reality games since it has been long overdue. Since October 13, 2016 to be more exact! Its recent launch is however still a bit far from meeting all of our expectations.

Golem, a heavy game

From the start, you will understand what the Golem problem is. From a movement and movement point of view, the system is imprecise, and not necessarily instinctive. Two elements that tend not to forgive in virtual reality but, let's face it, by giving it a little time, things become natural. Above all, when with one of these Golems you finally succeed in defeating an opponent, your efforts will have been such that the game will be worth the candle.

Let's be clear, Golem is not perfect. This gameplay seems precisely very 2016 and not at all 2019. We regret the non-use of the second PS Move. Those who do not understand English will also regret the absence of subtitles. So why do we admit a soft spot for this game? A rather successful visual experience and above all an incredible soundtrack give life to the adventure. Certainly the game will not climb into the top 5 of your VR experiences but that does not prevent it from keeping a place warm in your virtual library.
