dune 2 game review
Mega Drive versionI love Dune, it is for me one of the best sci-fi story and film and a work that still inspires me a lot today. But being younger, I especially discovered the universe of Frank Herbert via the game of Westwood Studios which made, in a way, my introduction and my first steps in the marvelous universe than that of Dune. Who, incidentally, helped me a lot to understand the subtleties of David Lynch’s film, which even if it is of an unnamed power, hides some elements that may seem obscure to the neophyte of the spice world.
Anyway, Dune 2 is also a video game monument, which, on its own, laid the foundations of modern RTS which even today are only very rarely modified For my part, I mostly discovered the game on the Sega console and which for once was a good port of the MS-Dos version and rather handy for the console. The game proposes to play the emblematic Maison Atreides and Harkonnen as well as a freely inspired house: that of Ordos. In terms of achievement, the game is always as magnificent and it's not the eyes of love that say it, the music always stays as much in the head and always sticks as well to the world of sand and sweat.
The funniest thing in history is that I spent a lot of hours on the game later at the boarding school, in a computer club where Dune 2 was one of the games playable in my establishment. So there was no multi, but it was the one with the best score / less losses. A whole era.
