Testing the Atari 2600 version

Atari 2600 VCS version
The video game Asteroids is an unmissable title from Atari. At the time the concept was revolutionary and enjoyed phenomenal success around the world. This version released in 1981 is much less fine than that on arcade machine which used a system of vectors, that is to say, kinds of wire generated by mathematical calculations. However, this version for Atari 2600 has color and the goal of the game is exactly the same: to survive. To be more explicit, the game takes place in tables. You have to destroy all the asteroids that move by shooting at it.

Unlike games like Space Invaders or Galaxian, the player can move freely, rotate on himself, and the ship has a progressive speed which makes it much more realistic (everything is relative of course, because at the bottom this n is just a triangle). The difficulty lies in the fact that the asteroids accelerate their speed as each table progresses and continue their trajectory opposite the screen.

The game quickly taps to its screen because the difficulty is quite high, we quickly want to start again to pulverize its previous high score.

Asteroids is a shooting game with 3-dimensional decor released on Playstation which puts us in command of a ship whose mission is to destroy the aliens and asteroids present on the screen. One can also use hyperspace to escape the danger but with the risk of seeing its spacecraft reappear on an asteroid.
